Tiffany Weiss is the upper half of 7th House Strings. Originally from Arizona, she graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance & Pedagogy, Music Education, and a Minor in Dance.
Recently, Tiffany has worked with Grammy winning artists, played on national television, as well as played with sought-after NYC groups such as the 8-Bit Big Band, Lotus Chamber Music Collective, and Little Kruta. Her previous work has included touring as a violinist for productions, judging young violinists in regional competitions, violin clinician work, and orchestral subbing.
During the pandemic, Tiffany developed Yoga for Musicians, a stretching class specifically for musicians to connect more with their body and prevent injuries. She presented remotely at various institutions and conferences. She still hosts a monthly session for musicians to come to, by donation.
When she isn’t performing, she has her own violin students, teaches dance/dance therapy and yoga, and also works in her family’s 3rd generation owned business.
Matthew Kolodzieski is the lower half and co-founder of 7th House Strings. He is a freelance cellist from New Jersey. He graduated from Mannes School of Music at The New School with his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Cello Performance.
Matthew has played on movie scores, studio sessions, solo with orchestra, as well as private events & corporate functions. He is often seen around Washington Square Park or near 14th Street in Manhattan busking, because he just loves to perform for anyone at any time!
When not involved in 7th House Strings, he is a full time music teacher in lower Manhattan, and has his own private cello students.
Note of interest: Matthew is an avid participant in the New York City skateboarding scene!
